About Our Pantry

The Food Pantry provides food for approximately 300 families per month. We conduct a respectful and confidential interview with each new customer. Our clients are the elderly, Veterans, the disabled, children and working families who just can’t make ends meet. We are a New Hampshire Food Bank approved agency.

We are also a “choice” pantry which means our customers choose which items to take home that day from a list that includes regular pantry staples, fresh meats and produce, daily specials, cleaning and paper products, and toiletries for the entire family. Our stock of inventory changes often and there is lots to choose from. Check out a "sample shopping list" below:

In 2017 we added a new program of buying fresh fruit and vegetables from local farmers during the summer months. Soon local home gardeners were donating beautiful produce from their gardens. In November when local produce is no longer available, we partner with local supermarkets and the NH Food Bank to to purchase fresh produce.

People may come to the Food Pantry once a week and we aim to provide supplemental food for approximately three days. The amount of food given is based on the number of people in each household.

During COVID we developed a safe way for people to pick up food. People are asked to call in their order before coming to the Food Pantry, a Pantry volunteer will go over food choices available that day and take your order over the phone. You choose the pick up time and your groceries will be ready when you arrive. We ask that people please bring their own bags. One customer at a time may come to the door and pick up their order.

We have since supplemented our phone-in only order process to allow people to stop by the Pantry and order their food in person. And then wait while their order is being filled.
